Todowing

Todowing is an unofficial Chrome extension for the Todoist web app. Red Pixel makes it. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Doist.

Todoist flattens sub-tasks in Today, Upcoming, Boards, Filters, and Labels, so you lose track of which task belongs to what. Todowing nests sub-tasks inline up to four levels deep in those views, with due date, priority, and labels on each row. You can complete or reopen a sub-task without opening its parent.

It also changes how Todoist looks. Pick one of seven color palettes, which also adjust row spacing, section style, and corner rounding, and set text size anywhere from 85% to 200%.

The free version covers all of that, with a limit of 5 sub-task rows per top-level task. A one-time lifetime unlock with no subscription adds editing sub-tasks in the list, a hide-done toggle, filing a task under a parent in another project, focus sessions with a countdown card that follows you across open tabs, per-task time estimates, a font picker with about 50 Google Fonts, a notes pad above Today, and read-only Apple Calendar events on Today.

It works with any Todoist plan, including free ones, in the Todoist web app on Chrome. It does not run in the Todoist desktop app. Todowing talks directly to the Todoist API, so your tasks never pass through its servers, and the extension has no analytics or tracking.
